The Ascension

BismillahirRahmanirRahim

Nur Muhammad salAllah,And still He rose,Past the land of me,And still He rose,

To the Baytul Maqdis,And still He rose,The devils wished to burn,And still He rose,

The Prophets stood in salawat,And still He rose,Praising Him and His progeny,And still He rose,

Buraaq His steed,And still He rose,Rising faster and faster,And still He rose,

Past the Heavens,And still He rose,Past the Hells,And still He rose,

Past our father Adam,And still He rose,Past the second father Nuh,And still He rose,

Past Ibrahim the upright,And still He rose,Past Musa the infallible,And still He rose,

He passed Isa the pure,And still He rose,Beyond all the Archangels He reached,And still He rose,

To the sidratul muntaha,And still He rose,Jibraell could go no further,And still He rose,

Passing the pen and tablet,And still He rose,Past the throne and sea,And still He rose,Until there were but 2 bows lengths,And still He rose,And there His Lord revealed all,And still He rose,

All that has happened and all that will,All that is created and all that will come,Each secret made clear,For what can be hidden between lovers,

All the treasure nor praise could dissuade our Master,For His journey was to His Lord,Upon Him be salutations beyond measure,For our Mawlana left not without our forgiveness,

The Quran His praise,Jibraeel His servant,The throne His throne,ALLAH His Beloved,

What beauty is there in heaven without Him?What is left of humanity with Him removed,Angels have no light without His light,For creation owes Its very existence to Him,

From the atom to the galaxies all praise The Prophet,Drunk they spin in the web of His love,In each instant they circle the Mustafa,In the holiest of Holy tawaafs,

For their is no faith without His name,No safety without His intercession,If not for Him all would be torn from the earth,So stand and send upon Him the finest of Praise,

Hasbi Rabi jalAllah,Mafi Qalbi khayrullah,Nur Muhammad salAllah,Nur Muhammad salAllah,Nur Muhammad salAllah,La Illaha IlALLAH.

Why do you deny the Mi’raj?

Muhammad_PBUH_by_kamrannaqvi

Jalal-ud-Din Rumi (Alaihi Rahma) in his famous Mathnavi states:

“The moon traverses the constellations of the zodiac in a single night,
so why do you deny the mi’raj (Ascension)?
That wondrous, unique Pearl (the Prophet) is like a hundred moons
–for when he made one gesture, the moon was split in two.
And the marvel that he displayed in splitting the moon
was in keeping with the weakness of the creatures’ perception.
The work and business of the prophets and messengers
is beyond the spheres and the stars.
Transcend the spheres and their revolution!
Then you will see that work and business.”

Isra and Miraj

Poems that are exclusively on the subject of Isra’ and Mi‘raj are called Mi‘rajiyya. Many such Mi‘rajiyya have been composed in Arabic, Turkish, Urdu, and other languages. For example, Shaykh ‘Abd ar-Rahman bin Ahmad az-Zayla‘i composed a Mi‘rajiyya in Arabic with 18 verses. Imam Ahmed Raza Khan (Alaihi Rehma) composed a Mi‘rajiyya in Urdu with 66 verses. Let us gain barakaat (blessings) from its last six verses (translation is by Professor G.D. Qureshi).

Then the distinguished guest was taken to paradise.
The stars of paradise felt honoured to see the glory of their Arabian moon.

The Arabian moon was accorded a glorious welcome joyfully.
All the heavenly flowers became daffodils and the chandeliers shone more brightly.

The spirit of ecstasy edged him on but the sense of humility checked him modestly.
A real conflict of emotions: “To advance or just to stay there reverently”.

Allah’s omnipotence be praised! His truthful moon shone at millions of stations on his way. Even then he returned home by dawn before starlight faded away.

Take pity on us, O our intercessor and Allah’s Messenger of mercy!
Grant us a small share from the gifts distributed during the Mi‘raj journey.

Allah encouraged him before the Battle of Badr with a dream of a small kuffaar army.

AbnO1

“(And remember) when Allah showed them to you as few in your dream; if He had shown them to you as many, you would surely have been discouraged…” [Qur’an 8:44]

Hafiz ibn Kathir relates in his Tafsir: Mujahid said, “In a dream, Allah showed the Prophet the enemy as few. The Prophet conveyed this news to his Companions and their resolve strengthened.” This demonstrates Allah’s compassion towards the believers. Allah made them see few disbelievers in their eyes, so that they would be encouraged and feel eager to meet them.

The Shadowless Prophet Sayyidina Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم

The Messenger of Allahﷺ had no visible shadow, even on a bright sunny day.
7 Miracle
  • Sayyidina Abdullah ibn Abbas (RadiAllahu Anhu) , the cousin of the Beloved Prophetﷺ, states, “The Messenger of Allahﷺ had no shadow, not while standing in the sun, but the brilliance of his light (noor) surpassed the rays of the sun; nor while sitting before a burning light, but his luminous light excelled the lustre of the light.” [Imam ibn al-Jawzi’s Kitabul-Wafa]
  • Imam Jalaluddin Suyuti  narrates, “This is also a unique feature of the Prophet that his shadow did not touch the ground, because he was light (noor), and when he used to walk in the sunshine his shadow could not be seen.” [Khasaa’is al-Kubra]
  • Imam Nasafi  in his Tafseer Madaarik narrates from Sayyidina Uthman ibn Affan (RadiAllahu Anhu) , the son-in-law of the Prophetﷺ that he said to the Prophet ﷺ : “Allah Almighty does not let your shadow fall on the ground, so that no foot of man can fall on it”.
  • Sayyidina Hakeem Tirmidhi in his book Nawaadirul-Usool narrates from Sayyidina Zakwaan (RadiAllahu Anhu), a close Companion of the Prophet ﷺ , the following Hadith: “The shadow of the Prophet ﷺ could not be seen in the brightness of the sun, nor in moonlight”.

SUBHAN ALLAH!!!

The Beloved Messenger of Allah ﷺ never yawned during his entire lifetime.

6-reasons-ipad
It is related that the Beloved Messenger  himself said, “No Prophet has ever yawned.” [Imam ibn Hajar, Fath al-Bari]
Yazid Ibn Al-Atham (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
“Our Prophet Muhammad  has never yawned, either!”
Suyuti, ibid., 1/126; Ibn Al-Jawdhi, ibid., 381

HOLY SALIVA of the Prophet ﷺ

number5

Regarding the saliva of ordinary people like you and I, it is mentioned that if one spits anywhere or on anything, then it is unhygienic and carries germs and harmful bacteria that causes illnesses. It is for this reason that one may even see a sign which says “Do not spit hear. It is unhealthy.” However the  (Holy Saliva) of the Holy Prophetﷺ is not unclean or does not cause illness but it is the cure to illnesses. Through it, severe illnesses are completely cured just as it has been mentioned in distinguished books/kitaabs. The blessed saliva of the Beloved Messengerﷺ worked as a miraculous cure for ailments.

“…The Prophetﷺ was told that Ali (RadiAllahu Anhu) was suffering from eye-trouble, so he applied saliva to Ali’s eyes and invoked Allah to cure him. He at once got cured as if he had no ailment.” [Bukhari]

In Detail:

Hazrat Sahl bin Sa’ad (RadiAllahu Anhu) states that on the day of Khaibar the Holy Prophet ﷺ said,“Tomorrow I shall give the flag in the hand of such a person in whose hand Almighty Al’laah will give success and victory and he loves Almighty Al’laah and His Prophet .” The following morning all the Sahaba (alaihimur ridwaan) presented themselves in the Holy Court of the Holy Prophet ﷺ and each one wished that the flag would be given to him but the Holy Prophet ﷺ said,
”Where is Ali ibn Abi Talib _?’

The Sahaba-e-Kiraam (alaihimur ridwaan) said,
“His eyes are hurting (had an eye infection)”

The Prophet ﷺ said,
“Ask for someone to call him” Someone was sent to call Hazrat Ali . When he arrived, the Holy Prophet put his blessed saliva into his eyes and Hazrat Ali became well and he felt as if there never was any pain (in his eyes). [Mishkaat Shareef Pg.563 – Ash’atul Lam’aat {Persian} Pg.664 Vol.4 – Musnad Imam Ahmed Pg.53 Vol.4 – Mawahibul Laduniyah Pg.378 Vol.1]

• It has been quoted by Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Haq Muhadith Dehlwi (rahimahullah) , then by Hazrat Allama Qistalaani (rahimahullah) in his book Mawahibul Laduniyah and Allama Yusuf Nibhaani (rahimahullah) in his book Anwaarul Muhammadiya that:

Once the Prophet ﷺ gargled into a well, due to which the entire well became fragrant like kasturi and musk. [Madaarijun Nubuiwat Pg.11 Vol.1 – Anwaarul Muhammadiya Pg 200]

• When Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (RadiAllahu Anhu) was bitten by the snake in the Cave of Thawr,
Then the Holy Prophet ﷺ applied his blessed saliva on the snake bite and the discomfort which he (Abu Bakr) felt began to subside”. [Tafseer Roohul Bayaan Pg.433 Vol.3, Published Beirut]

Subhan Allah!! Alhamdulillah!!

The Splitting of the Moon…

When the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alaahi wa Aalihi wasallam) started inviting the whole of humanity towards Islam and started granting them the belief in the unity of Allah Ta’ala and His own Prophethood, the Makkans wanted to stop His Da’wah activities. Thus, Abu Jahl called one of his friends Habeeb Yemeni to Makkah to stop the people of Makkah from embracing Islam. When Habeeb Yemeni reached Makkah, Abu Jahl started complaining about the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam). On listening to all of this, Habeeb Yemeni said that first he will meet Him.

He sent a messenger to the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alaahi wa Aalihi wasallam) that Habeeb Yemeni along with the elite of Makkah wants to meet at such and such a place. The Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alaahi wa Aalihi wasallam) went there. It was a full moon night.

Habeeb Yemeni asked the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alaahi wa Aalihi wasallam):

What do you invite people to?

The Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alaahi wa Aalihi wasallam):
That Allah is One and only and that I am the Prophet of Allah Ta’ala.

Habeeb Yemeni:
If you are Prophet, then what is your miracle as a sign of Prophethood?

The Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alaahi wa Aalihi wasallam):
I am ready to show you whatever miracle you desire.

Habeeb Yemeni:
I want to see 2 miracles. One, that you split the moon and the second that you yourself tell me what I want.

The Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alaahi wa Aalihi wasallam) along with all the chiefs of Quraysh, went to the mountain of Safa. He (SallAllahu Alaahi wa Aalihi wasallam) gestured at the moon with His blessed finger and immediately the moon split into 2 and everybody saw it with their own eyes. Then again the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alaahi wa Aalihi wasallam) gestured and the 2 parts of the moon rejoined.

After this, the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alaahi wa Aalihi wasallam), for whom Allah Ta’ala has made plain what lies in the hearts, told Habeeb Yemeni:

O Habeeb Yemeni! You have a daughter, who is blind, deaf and lame. You desire that she get cured. Go! Your daughter is cured.

He only had to listen to this, that Habeeb Yemeni recited the Kalimah Shahadah and entered the fold of Islam.

When he went to his house, he saw that the girl who was handicapped earlier is herself opening the door. He asked her: Daughter! What happened? She said: Father! I saw a dream that a very beautiful and radiant person came to me, made me a Muslim by reciting the Kalimah Shahadah and passed His hand over my body and I was cured that very moment.

[‘Aseedat ash-Shahadah Sharh Qasidat al-Burdah, Imam Umar bin Ahmad Kharbooti, Page 122]

Allah, send Your blessings upon our Master Muhammad in such a measure that earns Your pleasure, and send Your blessings upon our Master Muhammad exceeding that measure which has earned Your pleasure, and send Your blessings upon on our Master Muhammad forever and ever.
